E-LETTERS

Q: What is an e-letter?
A: An e-letter is a handwritten email. You can write an e-letter just the way you would write a letter or a note, on paper of any color or shape. You can send a long, beautiful letter or just a quick note, and you don't need to have a computer at hand to write an e-letter, you only need it when you want to send it.

Q: What do I need to send e-letters?
A: You need to install Quillia Mail on a computer with Microsoft 98, Me, 2000 or XP, a scanner and a connection to the internet.

Q: Who can I send an e-letter to?
A: You can send an e-letter to anyone who has an email address. E-letters can be read by any email reader; the letter image is directly shown in the body of the email and not as an attachment.

Q: Why is it better to send an e-letter instead of just attaching an image file to an email?
A: Quillia Mail is the first solution specifically designed to create and send e-letters: With just one click, Quillia Mail acquires your letter from your scanner, optimizes it for the best readability with the lowest file size, and puts it in an e-letter. This is much simpler than using a graphic application to acquire and elaborate your letter, save it to disk, and attach it to an email.

Q: Do I already need an email address in order to use Quillia Mail?
A: No, we will give you a free email address @quillia.com to use with Quillia Mail. If you already have an email address, you can use your new one alongside the old one.

Q: How much storage space will I have with my Quillia Mail address?
A: With Quillia Mail, you don't have to really worrry about your space, because Quillia Mail keeps all your archived messages on your own computer, thus freeing the online space. The single biggest message you can receive with the free mail address is 5 MB.

Q: Can I read my email on computers other than my own?
A: Yes, you can. You can access your Quillia address through the web from any computer: just type your address and password in the small space at the end of any page on our website, and click 'Read mail'. With our web access, you can read and send email and read e-letters. The only thing you can't do is send e-letters; for that you need our Quillia Mail application. If you need, you can register your existing Quillia address in a Quillia Mail copy installed on a computer different from yours and send e-letters from there.

Q: Why is Quillia Mail “beta”? What does that mean?
A: We have recently worked hard to improve Quillia Mail. We have thoroughly tested the new features of our software, but these new parts could still have some minor problems. Until we will be sure to have found and fixed all those problems, we will use the conventional “beta” denomination.

Q: How much will it cost to use Quillia Mail?
A: You can use Quillia Mail for free for as long as you want! We generate revenues showing minimal advertising during the use of Quillia Mail. If you want to get rid of this advertising, however, you will soon be able to pay for an ad-free, improved version of Quillia Mail.

Q: Apart from sending e-letters, what else can I do with Quillia Mail?
A: Quillia Mail is a complete email solution, specifically designed for your personal email needs. It has innovative features to make the use of email a better experience for you, such as different colors for messages from your friends or from unknown people (click here to find out more). A very special feature is that when you get an e-letter from a friend of yours through Quillia Mail, you can see a sample of his or her handwriting, so you can be sure that that isn't spam!
